I'm not going to lie, part of the reason I started my food journal was following your tweets about this project. I realized that, at 230 pounds, I'm very unhealthy and need to do better if I want to be here longer. And although I haven't gotten to the point where I'm counting Calories, I am making myself responsible for the food I put in my mouth. And in just a little under a week, I can already feel a difference inside myself. I have more energy, I need less food to feel full, and, the best part of all, I feel better about myself.

So really, thank you for this. I know it's a lot to put yourself through, but you've at least shown one person how important it is to care about what they're eating.

Oh, and? Re "stuffing our faces faster than ever": take a look at this new, undoubtedly wildly popular, KFC sandwich: http://www.kfc.com/ - the Double Down. You have to download the PDFs at the Nutrition link to find out what's actually in it, and what the various values are. Want to take bets on how many people actually do that? (Both the regular version and the grilled version have nearly the entire recommended daily intake of sodium in them.)

I found out about this from NPR's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me's blog. Cool, huh? (NOT!)
